Day Trip

  • Jerez de la Frontera

Best-known internationally for its sherry bodegas and dancing horses, Jerez de la Frontera is also one of the cradles of flamenco. Add to that its medieval fortress, the beautifully-presented archaeological museum, the central market with an amazing array of fish and seafood, and gourmet tapas served up in historic tabancos – there’s something for everyone.

  • Carmona

Occupying a privileged position on an escarpment overlooking the lower Guadalquivir valley, Carmona has been inhabited for 5,000 years. The historic town centre echoes the Iberian, Carthaginian, Roman, Muslim, Jewish and Christian cultures that helped to shape it.

  • Zuheros and Luque

The neighbouring villages of Zuheros and Luque are within easy reach of Córdoba, on the northern edge of the Sierras Subbéticas UNESCO Global Geopark, which has impressive karst landscape features. See the rock formations up close at the Cueva de los Murciélgos or visit a romantic castle.

  • Marbella

Marbella makes a great day trip from Málaga or any of the resorts on the Costa del Sol. It has a charming old town with flower-filled white-washed streets and a seaside promenade that goes on for miles.

  • Granada with Alhambra

Your main focus has to be the Alhambra and Generalife, which can easily take 3 hours or more to explore. After that, you should have time to see a bit of Granada itself. We recommend you choose either the Renaissance district around the cathedral or the lower Albaicín.

  • Córdoba Day Trip

Córdoba is very easily reached on the AVE high-speed train from Seville, Málaga or Antequera, so it makes a great day trip. You’ll have time to explore the beautiful UNESCO-listed Mosque-Cathedral and Jewish quarter. You might even be able to squeeze in the Alcázar or a couple of Córdoba’s famous flower-filled patios.

  • Antequera

Antequera, with its ancient dolmens and charming old town, sits right in the heart of Andalucía, strategically placed on Spain’s high-speed rail network, which makes it an excellent day trip from Málaga, Córdoba, Granada or Seville.

  • Baeza

Together with neighbouring Úbeda, Baeza is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, thanks to its wonderfully preserved Renaissance and medieval architecture. Baeza can be visited as a day trip from Granada or Córdoba, although if you’re coming from Córdoba it’s much easier if you have a car.

  • Úbeda

Together with neighbouring Baeza, Úbeda is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognised for its beautifully preserved Renaissance architecture. Úbeda makes a great day trip from Granada and, if you have a car, from Córdoba.
